Introducing Debra Fong

Nominated for: Permanent Recruiter of the Year

In 2020/2021, Debra has been responsible for changing 46 lives - an impressive total considering the challenges of COVID-19 over this period. Debra was one of the first people to join our Edinburgh branch back in 2018 (not long after it was opened). She had never worked in recruitment before but was determined to show us her determination and talent - and she hasn't disappointed.

When the pandemic hit, the Edinburgh team was put on furlough, but the HRS director, Ricky Martin, saw something special in Debra and asked her to become HRS's first full-time remote worker. Despite the challenges that come with working from home, Debra was not only able to achieve the targets set out for her, but she massively exceeded them - proving that remote working was a feasible option for HRS life changers.

Some of Debra's most notable achievements:

  • Debra was the consultant of the month in October 20/21 (and many other months prior).
  • Debra had the most Google reviews in the company for 3 consecutive months: March, April, May 2021.
  • Debra was in the high performer's club in Q1 and Q2 2020.

What kind of jobs does Debra recruit for?

Debra is in a delivery consultant role, which means she recruits for a wide range of jobs across the life science industries. She has recruited laboratory scientists, engineers, project managers and chain/operational staff. This shows how Debra is able to adapt her recruitment approach to suit jobs of ranging seniority and focus.
