How has the last year been for the Loughton Contract Team?
Forgive the cliche but it has been a bit of a year of two halves for the team with a transitional first half of the year followed by a storming finish. We had new members join the team in Jack Messenger & Sunnie Morley who came in to supplement the established members of the team, and whilst it took them a little bit of time to get going they have been great additions and definitely contributed to our strong end of the company year. We also made structural changes with our contract delivery team taking shape under Fabio Roque & Riley Watmore with the main remit of delivering to our RPO clients. Then of course you can't forget Marcus Rossi who had an individually fantastic year and provided the foundation for the team to succeed.
So, what's on the agenda for the new year?
It is an exciting year ahead for the science contract team with plenty of foreseeable growth across the whole team but notably our venture into the EU market is definitely the area where I see the biggest expansion. Jack & Marcus have already opened a number of big projects across the Netherlands & Belgium, I expect this area to grow as well as development of the German & Swiss markets. We have already made some great connections in region and this is a space to watch out for HRS in.
Back on home shores I can see consolidation of our core offering in the UK and development of the contract delivery function to service more of our large accounts. This team has already shown it can deliver large volumes of talent at short notice and this will only increase as we roll the solution out to more of our client base.
Finally, are there any verticals which you see taking off this year for the team?
If I am going to be brutally honest I wouldn't say there is one specific area that will be the focus for us as we are seeing growth across the whole sector. With the government committing more investment towards life sciences it is a great opportunity for us to support the growth of the industry. However, it is worth mentioning AI and how this is going to play a bigger part within life sciences, you will definitely see us at some industry events where AI is on the bill.
