Introduction to - Ben Vicentuan - Head of Talent Acquisition & Engagement

Over the next few weeks, we'll be sitting down with HRS team members so that you can get to know our life-changing recruiters a little better.

Our next team member is Head of Talent Acquisition & Engagement, Ben Vicentuan. Ben has been with HRS since February 2021 having started his recruitment career 14 years ago where he progressed to managing a team prior to focusing on his career in internal recruitment.

He has headed up internal recruitment for a number of reputable recruitment brands on a regional, national and international level. He is now a monumental part in growing the HRS Life Changing team.

With our next academy around the corner what is the TA team on the lookout for?

Hi James, yes - the new academy is due to start this September and we are on the lookout for new talented consultants to join this years intake. Those interested should be ready to start with us in Loughton in September and willing to attend one of our assessment centres where we can look at your skills and suitability for a career in recruitment with HRS. 


You mention assessment centres, what should people expect? 

These are nothing to panic about! I think that people hear the words 'assessment centre' and are immediately put off after hearing horror stories of loads of people in a room fighting it out for 1 role, but this isn't the case with us. We like to get a small group together and run some small team activities alongside some short tests as well as some on the phone activities to help us see how you react as well as give you a feel for the role.

Ultimately this is as much about you knowing as much as possible about us and how we work as well as us getting to know you and your abilities. Plus there are snacks available, and who doesn't love some snacks!


So, by the sounds of things most aspects of the role are explained on the day, can you give me a quick idea of what skills you'd love to see?

Stopping short of giving you a full job spec, you must be able to demonstrate enthusiasm, drive and determination.

This is an excellent opportunity for graduates to learn the recruitment industry from experienced professionals. You will be driven with the perseverance and resilience to overcome obstacles and achieve targets on a regular basis. We have such a great team here with a fantastic collaborative atmosphere so if you can slot into that team while still putting the hours in then you will definitely be a great fit for us.
