Why are we all wearing jeans today?

Jeans for Genes Day is an annual fundraising event that takes place to improve the lives of individuals and families affected by genetic disorders. AND to show our support for this fantastic cause, we are all wearing our jeans today!

What are genetic disorders?

Genetic disorders are caused by an alteration in DNA. This may mean that either a gene or several genes are missing, repeated or in the wrong order. Altered genes can affect a child's senses, movement, ability to learn or appearance.

Did you know? Individually, genetic disorders are rare but together they affect 1 in 25 children born in the UK - that's more than 30,000 babies each year. Their associated health problems mean that genetic disorders are the biggest cause of death of children aged 14 years and under.
