HRS Help Essex Food Bank to Support People in Need

HRS team members volunteering at Essex food bank

We take corporate social responsibility (CSR) very seriously here at Hyper Recruitment Solutions. Changing lives is at the very heart of our corporate vision, and we strive to be an ethical, responsible company that gives back to the community.

As part of our commitment to CSR, we have recently been working with 3Food4U, a superb charity that provides food, clothes and other essentials to those in need.

About 3Food4U

3Food4U is an Essex-based charity that's dedicated to treating people with dignity and respect.

Their community surplus hubs provide food, clothes, toys, and home essentials to anyone who needs them - no assessment or referral necessary.

3Food4U currently has four hub locations in Essex's Epping Forest district:

  • Chigwell Row
  • Chipping Ongar
  • Loughton
  • Waltham Abbey

Why we're supporting 3Food4U

The HRS team are always looking for new ways to give back to our local community, and since 3Food4U's Loughton hub is located just around the corner from our head office, we were eager to offer what support we could.

Food banks have offered a crucial lifeline to many British households in recent years - especially during the coronavirus pandemic, which reportedly sparked a 47% increase in support needed. The past year or so has been tough on all of us, but those who were already struggling to make ends meet have been hit especially hard by COVID-19, with job losses and lockdown restrictions compounding what was already a desperate situation for many people.

So it's great to see the likes of 3Food4U - which is run entirely by volunteers - stepping up to help those who need it most.

Mental health is another big focus for us here at HRS (we recently added a trained Mental Health First Aider to our team), and while depression and other mental health problems can affect anybody, regardless of their circumstances, there is evidence that poverty and poor nutrition can be major mental health risk factors.

With that in mind, we are very pleased to be able to help 3Food4U's friendly volunteers with their mission to support needy households in this trying time.
